Hints for saving your inventory fileIf you have your inventory in file Microsoft Excel, Access or other database program, we suggest you save the file as a Tab Delimited Text file:
from the Excel menu, choose File : Save As
in the file name box, enter the file name (your company id) with .txt at the end, i.e. 1017.txt
in the Save as type dropdown box, choose: Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt)
If you're using MS Access, select the table or query with your parts, choose File : Export and follow steps 2 and 3 above.
Tab delimited files tend to import into other programs because the Tab character which separates fields is never part of a part number, manufacturer name or description. Other file formats use commas (,) and quotes (") to separate fields. If your part numbers or descriptions have commas or quotes, they may not import properly using other file formats.
